Over the last two decades, Ruaka has become the investors paradise. The construction of the new Western Bypass continues to drive investments in the area. The bypass links Ruaka to the Nairobi-Nakuru highway at Gitaru, neighboring areas such as Westlands, Limuru, Kiambu town, Runda and Waiyaki way. This makes Ruaka environs easily accessible. Most of Nairobi working population is showing interest in the town due to its proximity to the Central Business District (CBD). The distance is less than 20 kilometers with a motorist taking an average of 20 minutes to arrive to the city. The town is also a home to the largest mall in East Africa, Two Rivers Mall which has opened the area to a number of business opportunities. With different international brands flocking the mall such as Nike, Woolworths, LC Waikiki among others, Ruaka has established itself as a business hub.
